«Retos» accepts original and unpublished articles that are not published or being evaluated by another publication. Articles should be submitted in the official downloadable Microsoft Word® template (here).

The regulations on presentation, structure, extension, forms of citation, anonymization of documents and the process of sending are downloadable (here).

All manuscripts submitted to «Retos» for evaluation should be accompanied by a cover letter signed by all authors. The model of this document can be found in this link and must be filled in, signed in and attached the "Supplementary Files" section of OJS.

Before sending the original through the platform, we ask you to confirm compliance with the journal's rules through this checklist.

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The title of the manuscript is included in Spanish (maximum 80 characters with space)
  • Manuscript title in English is included (maximum 80 characters with space)
  • An abstract is included in Spanish, in a single paragraph and without epigraphs (minimum/maximum: 220/230 words).
  • An abstract is included in English, in a single paragraph and without epigraphs (minimum/maximum 200/230 words).
  • The abstracts in Spanish and English respond orderly to the following questions: justification and contextualization of the topic, objectives, type of research, study methodology, results and main conclusions.
  • The texts in English (title, summary and descriptors) have been written or verified by an official translator or expert in this language (the use of automatic translators is prohibited).
  • All the identification data of the authors in the OJS system are included in the order stipulated in the regulations: identification and correspondence data, professional affiliations, ORCID and the last academic degree.
  • The manuscript explicitly and correctly cites all sources and materials used.
  • The references have been rigorously reviewed and only those that have been cited in the text are included.
  • The DOIs have been included in all the References that take it with the following format: doi: https://doi.org/XXXXXX
  • The manuscript is uploaded to the platform in Word format and without author identification
  • The work respects the minimum and maximum allowable extension: Section Research: 5,000 / 6,500 words of text (including references), Reports, Studies: 5,000 / 6,500 words of text (including references).
  • 5 keywords are included (in Spanish and English) (only simple words, not phrases or combinations of words), with the most significant terms, and if possible standardized. The use of the Thesaurus of the Leibniz Information Centre for Economics (http://zbw.eu/stw/version/ latest/about) is recommended.
  • At most, an article may have 3 authors, although if justified with thelcance and methodology of the study, they may be up to 4.
  • The author/s has duly signed the cover letter of the article, which includes the partial transfer of rights and the declaration of conflict of interest.
  • In the case of a research article andmpírica, the manuscript responds to the structure: introduction, methodology, results and discussion, conclusions. For literature reviews the sections should be: introduction, corpus selection criteria, debates on the state of the question,conclusions.
  • The quotations in the text strictly conform to the current APA Edition regulations, reflected in the instructions.
  • All web addresses of references should be shortened with a link shortener.
  • Retos will not allow more than 2 self-citations per article.
  • The number of references cited is between 35-40 in empirical research and 60-70 in literature reviews. The article must contain current references, mostly (≥80%) of articles indexed in JCR and/or Scopus journals.
  • Any author who has published in Retos must wait a period of four consecutive issuesor 2 years, for a next application.
  • Complete the coverletter with the authors' contributions.
